The thoroughbred racing industry has many different aspects to it. The breeding, raising, training, racing, and retiring of horses involve many ways that someone could become an owner. With the Co-Owner Club, Wasabi Ventures Stables is concentrating on an active racing program. This means we will buy or claim horses that are currently racing.
A great description of a claiming horse is found in Wikipedia:
A claiming race in thoroughbred horse racing is one in which the horses are all for sale for more or less the same price (the "claiming price") up until shortly before the race.
What this means for Club members is that you are getting into horses that are racing now. This club is for people who are looking for immediate action with their horses.
Our goal in any horse that we claim in this program is to immediately put them back into races where they can run and have a chance of winning.
